Every CLAS department, and most centers, have department computer contacts who are the first people you should ask about computer help. Department contacts should be able to help you with basic trouble-shooting, account creation and maintenance, and most day-to-day computer issues. If the contact is unable to fix the problem, they will request assistance from the CLASnet staff.

If your deparment contact is unavailable and you are having an emergency, you can contact CLASnet directly, but otherwise please ask your contact first. CLASnet has a staff of 10 to support 4000 users, so the assistance of the department contacts is essential to allow us to help everyone effectively.

For many questions, there are answers available on the web in the Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) pages or here in the How-To area. You may also be able to learn (or teach) basic computer skills through your co-workers within your department.
