For quite some time Macintosh computers on the CLAS network have needed to use BOOTP for internet access rather than the more common DHCP protocol. There were a variety of reasons for using BOOTP but, after the recent upgrades to the CLAS DHCP system, it is no longer necessary for Macs to do this. With a few very simple changes you can have your Mac access the internet using the new DHCP system. The whole process of switching from BOOTP to DHCP will only take 5 or 6 clicks from start to finish.
First, make sure your computer has been turned on and you're at the desktop. Once the Mac is ready, follow the directions below for the version of MacOS running on your computer.
