What is the Profile Manager?




The Profile Manager creates a directory for Mozilla to store its settings files in. Profiles that are created with the Profile Manager default to being located in the c:\Documents and Settings\userid\Application Data\Mozilla directory for Windows 2000 and XP users, and c:\Winnt\Profiles\userid\Application Data\Mozilla for Windows NT users.

If Mozilla can't access its profile for some reason, if it finds a parent.lock file, or if the registry.dat file in the user profile is missing or corrupt, Mozilla will launch the Profile Manager to prompt you to create a new profile that it can use.
