- Email: As of this Fall, incoming graduate students will not be given CLAS email accounts. Their GatorLink (IMAP) email accounts will be their only UF email account. Continuing students will have their CLASnet email migrated to GatorLink when their department is converted to the new system. We will inform OSG (Open Systems Group at CNS) to remove any <user@dept.ufl.edu> forwards from the accounts, and migrate their CLASnet mail folders into their Gatorlink IMAP accounts (into a sub-folder named "CLAS mail"). We will forward their existing <user@dept.ufl.edu> addresses into their Gatorlink mail accounts. Every unit has the option of paying for a certain number of Exchange mailboxes which can be assigned to their graduate students. The current cost is $24 per mailbox per year. Please let us know how many of these mailboxes your unit would like to add.
- Active Directory S: drives: When CLAS moves over to Active Directory, graduate students will have access to the Windows SHARE volume via departmentally-supplied groups. We can provide shared project folders for graduate students working with faculty, or anyone with a Gatorlink account. They will not be able to write (or even view) these folders unless they are in the particular group.
- Active Directory H: and I: drives: When CLAS moves over to Active Directory, graduate students may have individual H: drives and I: drives (for departmental research and teaching) on the CLASnet servers. If a department wishes to allow their graduate students to have HOME directories (H: drives) and web pages (I: drives), the chair must make a specific request to CLASnet for this service. Such requests must contain the following statement: The department agrees to assign the proper NMB (Networked Managed By) field via PeopleSoft when graduate students join the program, and remove the association when they leave.
