Between vendor delivery problems, physical infrastructure issues, and
a lack of available personnel, our timeframe is several months behind
schedule. This is a document in progress, and we will update the
projects as we go. Please check back for additional information.
- Spring 2007
- Language Learning Center converted to Active Directory.
- Summer 2007
- Dell and EMC equipment ordered for CLASnet migration.
- August 2007
- EMC Celerra storage server brought on-line.
- December 2007
- Cooling and power stabilized for new servers.
- January 2008
- AALL, Graham Center, and Oral History migrations begin.
- April 2008
- EMC Celerra decommissioned as incompatible. Parts exchanged for a
supported storage solution.
- May 2008
- CLAS agrees to outsource email to UF Exchange Group.
- Storage solution approved by EMC support.
Obviously, we're not done yet. Still to go:
- May 2008
- AD fileservers will be brought on-line for HOME and SHARE space.
- Dean's Office will be migrated.
- June 2008
- AALL, Graham Center, and Dean's Office moved to UF Exchange.
- Zoology, Botany, CSD, RLL will be migrated. Additional units
will follow.
- August 2008
- All departments using CLASnet services should be migrated.
- Fall 2008
- All CLAS units are invited to migrate to Active Directory and
Exchange.
