UF has a minimum requirement for organizations to have a Continuity
of Operations Plan (COOP) based on the template document
http://www.ehs.ufl.edu/RiskMgmt/COOP/UFCOOP_Template.docwhich any UF organization should be able to fill in, using the instructions
http://www.ehs.ufl.edu/RiskMgmt/COOP/COOP_Instructions.doc
CLAS has a modified template for department IT use (check with
CLASnet for current contact data)
UFCOOP_Dept_IT_Template.docand a copy of the CLASnet COOP based on the template with a few security details redacted

CLAS encourages a more thorough plan, including detailed lists of assets, facilities, and services, and how to deal with the loss of some or all of them. Guidelines on what to include in such a document are listed in the business continuity plan page. This information is synthesized from Disaster Recovery articles, facilties management articles and class work. Please feel free to contact Allan West with any questions.
Campus security audits also require units to perform risk analysis in order to determine what contingencies to plan for, and regular audits of logs to determine whether your systems are operating as they should be.
